MetaEye Pro ISDN phone - FAQ

How do I reset my phone?

Sometimes if the power lead to the phone is pulled out during a call, then the phone's memory can be corrupted. This results in the black and white split screen with lines across.

The phone can be reset by simultaneously holding down the menu button, video/voice button and camera button while turning on the power.

If this doesn't work then try turning on the power while holding down the menu button, speaker button and camera button.

After resetting the phone, you must set the date and time correctly.

What do you mean, ISDN?

ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network) is very similar to a standard BT telephone line but instead of being analogue it is digital, the ISDN line consists of two channels (standard telephone line uses one channel) these channels can be used individually (one channel for telephone line the other channel could be used as fax line) or the channels can be used together providing a higher capacity connection, which is ideal if you want to communicate with an ISDN Videophone as they require a lot of data to be sent reliably without any delays.

NB: please note you can only use ISDN equipment on ISDN lines unless you purchase a Terminal Adaptor which can be bought for around £200. However BT Home Highway allows you to use ordinary telephone equipment and ISDN equipment on the same line without having to purchase a terminal adaptor.

Please explain Home Highway?

Home Highway has been launched by British Telecom, Home Highway is ISDN connection for residential users. BT will install a small box with two ISDN sockets and two normal telephone sockets, giving you two ordinary lines, you could have access to the internet (at 64kbit/s) via one of the ISDN channels and at the same time use your telephone on one of the analogue lines.
