COURSE T1 - Basic Technical ProTalk Accreditation Course Agenda
This course provides an IT competent person with sufficient knowledge to configure and install a basic ProTalk system.
Morning Session
- Basic overview of hardware and unpacking
- Pre-install network survey and typical network layout
- Powering on the PBX and network setup
- ISDN and PSTN card configuration (extra documentation)
- Dealing with fax machines - Linksys ATAs and fax to email (extra documentation)
- Basic settings - server config.
- Numbering plans - single site, multi site and which numbers not to use
- Adding extensions
- Creating extensions on the PBX
- Overview of Snom phones
- Registering phones to the PBX and making calls
- Planning the rest of the PBX configuration - drawing call flow plans
- Creating ring groups
- Creating and using digital receptionists (IVR)
- Creating and using queues
- Things to consider when using queues (voicemail and loops)
- Dynamic agents - logging in and out
- Incoming calls settings

- Introducing trunks
- Different technologies supported
- How they work and how to configure them
- Call routing
- Overview of Outbound Routing settings and what call routing can do
- Using routing dial rules for number amendment

- Advanced routing based on caller ID and why this is useful
- Using conferences
- 3-way conference feature built into phones
- More than 3-way conference using PBX conference servers
