Overview

*The Algo 1196 is a satellite device dependant on the Algo 8198

The Algo 1198 Satellite Ceiling Speaker offers a smart and cost-effective way to expand speaker coverage in indoor settings such as offices, schools, airports, and retail spaces. Designed to pair with the Algo 8198 SIP PoE+ Ceiling Speaker, the 1198 provides wideband audio ideal for voice paging, emergency alerts, and loud ringing applications. With identical form factor and acoustic performance to the main 8198 speaker, it ensures seamless integration and uniform audio quality throughout a user's environment.

For larger deployments, up to three 1198 satellite speakers can be powered and supervised by a single 8198 speaker. This setup enables all speakers to broadcast the same audio source simultaneously, whether a voice announcement or pre-recorded alert, without the need for additional network ports, cable drops, or device licences. Satellite speakers are connected in a daisy chain configuration using standard CAT5 or CAT6 patch cables, delivering exceptional coverage at a fraction of the cost.

Each 1198 unit is automatically detected by the 8198 speaker, with connectivity status visible via the 8198 web interface or the optional 8300 Supervision Controller. The 1198 also inherits zone and volume settings by default and supports ambient noise response via the 8198’s built-in microphone, ensuring clear and consistent output across all speakers.
