Overview

The Algo 8198 IP PoE+ Ceiling Speaker is a SIP-compliant and multicast-capable audio device designed for clear, high-quality voice paging, emergency notifications, and announcements in indoor environments such as schools, offices, and healthcare facilities. Powered via PoE+, it integrates easily with hosted, cloud-based, or on-prem VoIP telephone systems, making it ideal for unified communications and mass notification deployments.

What sets the 8198 apart is its patented Satellite Speaker Technology. This innovative feature allows a single 8198 speaker to drive and supervise up to three Algo 1198 Satellite Ceiling Speakers using standard patch cables. All four speakers share 16W of available audio power and require only one network connection and device licence, significantly reducing installation time, infrastructure costs, and switch port usage, while maintaining the full benefits of an IP-based paging system.

The 8198 also includes features such as ambient noise detection for automatic volume adjustment, multicast support for scalable zone-based paging, and advanced security protocols including TLS, mTLS, and SRTP.
